B&BW 3 Wick Candle Sale.

This weekend I shopped the 2 for $24 candle sale at Bath & Body Works. It's about the only time I will purchase their candles is when it's on sale. Spending $22.50 on a candle is just silly. When we need another candle and they don't have a sale going on, I will usually purchase a Target candle cause they are just as good and half the price!

Now that fall is coming around the corner, I am excited to start getting the Fall scents going in my home. The two scents we chose were Lakeside Sunrise and Sweater Weather.

I feel like Lakeside Sunrise is a good Summer-Fall transition scent. Let's be real with ourselves... I live in Florida and it's not really going to feel like Fall until October/November.

They didn't have my favorite scent which is Leaves at the location I went too. Hopefully they will bring it soon!

Church.

Today we went to church. Confession. It's been months since we've gone to church and I'm ashamed to admit that. We stopped going to the church we had been attending for about three years and was just in a weird phase. Weren't sure if we wanted to go back to the church we were attending prior or try some place new.

The church we had been attending before, I loved. The worship. The pastor's message. The energy. It was great. My only issue, at the time, was that it's a big church. For an introvert like me, this was very intimidating! I wanted to get involved but couldn't work the courage to do so. We were there for about a year and nothing. So we started attending a smaller church and got involved. It was perfect for us. After three years of being there, we just felt we needed a change.

Then we fell in this funk for months. Until finally, yesterday I thought to myself. This needs to stop! So I told S, we are going to church!

I woke up early this morning. Made breakfast, got ready and went to the first church we attended. Boy am I glad we did! I needed it. I missed it. There is something about being surrounded by other believers and worshipping our God. The sermon Angel of Light was about the invisible world. Some serious stuff right there. Way to whip someone back into shape!

Another good thing is that we now know some people there which will make the getting involved part a little more easier!

It's good to be back.

Cask Social Kitchen.

After church this morning, we headed down to South Tampa to try out a new (to us) restaurant, Cask Social Restaurant. Let's be honest, the look of the location itself is what attracted me. The whole wood industrial look has really grown on me.

They serve popcorn while you wait for your meal. Today's flavor was brown sugar corn flake. SO GOOD!

I behaved myself by eating a chopped salad since I knew we would be getting dessert :)

Overall, the experience itself was nice. As you can see, it was quite early and not too busy. My salad was good but definitely will be trying some other dishes on the menu next time.

Celebrating Taylor and Reese.

Today I went to my friend, Taylor's baby shower to celebrate her sweet baby girl, Reese. Her sister was a wonderful host, no surprise. She hosted my friend's first shower and it was so cute.

Funny story leading up to the event. I saw on the invite that it was being held at one of the church campuses. Assuming that it was being held at one of the campuses, my friend and I headed out to that campus, only to pull up to an empty parking lot. Oops! We pulled up the address from the invite and made our way to the other campus. Needless to say, we arrived 30 minutes late and of course, the building was practically all glass so we couldn't make a discrete entrance. But hey, we got there.

Here are some pics from the shower.

They had a waffle bar. How fun?!

Can't wait to meet the little girl soon! :)

Express Jeans Sale.

This weekend I did a little shopping at Express. Jeans were 40% off and it was tax free weekend. Double win. I purchased two pairs but had to have them delivered since they didn't have my size in store. Grr. Nothing more disappointing then spending money and leaving the store with no bags. #shortpeopleproblems

I got a pair of the Dark Wash Mid Rise Jean Leggings. There were all kinds of colors variations but decided to still with the simple dark denim, no wash. This way I don't feel limited on what outfits I can pair with.

The second pair is the Medium Wash Low Rise Thick Stitch Barely Boot Jean. The stitching is white, which I really like the contrast. I had a pair of jeans that were similar to these by the brand Vigoss, years ago. I used the heck out of the jeans! I figured I couldn't go wrong getting these.

Now I have to wait for them to get here. Good news I received the email that my order has been shipped!

While in the store, I spotted some other things I would like to buy, particularly these boots.

I have a coupon, $40 off when you spend $120, that will be perfect for this purchase. With the sale, I won't feel as guilty. Will be perfect for the fall season!

Piquant.

We had some beautiful weather this morning and decided to take advantage of the break from rainy weather to head down to South Tampa for lunch. I was in the mood for Piquant, a french inspired restaurant and bakery. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner there but I've only had their lunch. Oh, their dessert display is mouth watering and I wanted to take a picture of it but it was so busy. Could not get a good shot to save my life.

I had the chicken salad sandwich with a side salad. Same meal I get every time I go (creature of habit), however I don't recall the sandwich being so big! I had a bit of the croissant and ate the inside as to save my carb binging for dessert.

S got the Duck Confit and Grains salad.

Then came dessert. A delicious cronut filled with Nutella and the world's largest latte. A co-worker of mine introduced this amazingness to me and it is now a must every time we visit.

Across the street from Piquant is this apartments, I'm assuming, with a share court yard. I thought it was so cute.

After running some errands, I am now home giving myself a mani while its storming outside. Enjoying what's left of my weekend before the work week.

Professional Head Shot.

Look who grew up and got a real headshot to replace the selfie (embarrassing, I know) she had on her LinkedIn profile? This girl!

My colleague's husband is a photographer and was so kind enough to host a photo shoot day at their place to have our head shots taken. A few others had their head shots taken as well. It's funny because I was wearing shorts and sandals in that picture and you would never know.

I decided to go with a classic look. Cream top, black blazers, pearl earrings and neutral makeup.

So pleased with how mine came out! I no longer have to be ashamed to share with other professionals that, yes, I have a LinkedIn account. As soon as I received the picture, I immediately updated my professional social network profiles. #sorrynotsorry
