Friday Five | No. 3

Happy Friday and hello three day weekend!! Boy, have I been looking forward to this three day weekend. Mind you, I had a four day weekend like week ago? It's been a rough week at work and I need the extra day off before I lose my mind.

So it's been a long while since I've done a Friday Five, so let's do one today.

ONE | Jeans All Day Every Day

This was the first week that I got to wear jeans to work every day of the week. The firm I work for made the big announcement last week that our dress code has changed from business to jeans casual. I am loving it! Of course, with the new dress code, I need to go shopping... Outlets, here I come!

TWO | Beauty and the Beast Trailer

Anyone else as excited as I am about the recent release of the movie trailer??? This was one of my top favorites growing up. I could totally relate to the awkward outcast girl and I am a book nerd. I think Emma Watson is a good choice for Belle too.

THREE | Gilmore Girls on Up

I recently discovered that the channel Up (one of the very high number channels that no one watches) shows re-runs of Gilmore Girls (like back to back episodes) and have been watching Gilmore Girls practically all the time. It's been awesome! Helps make the anticipation for the show revival not so painfully long.

FOUR | Nashville

Who else is upset that Nashville ended for good? I loved this show! This totally caught me by surprise. Of course, the ending was HORRIBLE! I won't say it JUST IN case I ruin it for anyone. But seriously, total disappointment.

FIVE | Tory Burch Reva Ballet

It's finally happening guys. The shoes that have been on my wishlist for years is finally in my reach. I recently received a recognition reward at work for a project that I assisted with and I am putting it towards these pretties. These will definitely come in handy with the new casual look for work!

Well, I am ready to get this work day over with and start the three day weekend!

Weekend | May 21 & 22

Happy Monday! Pretty excited this week because the firm I work for just implemented a jeans dress code. Woo hoo!

Let's recap the weekend, shall we?

On Saturday, we went to St. Pete for lunch and to visit the Disney exhibit at the Dali Museum. We had lunch at a place in downtown called The Mills. Their brunch menu was mouth watering and their housemade chips were delicious!

The Disney exhibit was quite busy. No surprise. I had no idea that Dali and Disney had done a collaboration together, a short film titled Destino. While Dali and Disney began this work in 1953, it wasn't actually completed by Disney's nephew, Roy E. Disney, and released until 2003. Who knew?

On our way back home, we stopped by South Tampa for dessert at Chocolate Pi.

Yesterday was pretty low key. Church, grocery shopping and then I hit up the outlet malls. Found nothing which was disappointing.

Something exciting though was my girl Britney's performance on the Billboard's!! Did anybody else watch it?

Not gonna lie, I was holding my breath for the majority of that performance because I feared a wardrobe malfunction happening with that bra top. Thankfully, no malfunction and she did execute an amazing performance. So proud of her! That was all I watched of the show as I am sure I can find recaps every where on the net.

New Lindsay Phillips Sandals!

I have had Lindsay Phillips sandals on my wish list for some time now. This IGer that I stalk follow has a few pairs of these sandals and I just think they are so fun. They are sandals that have interchangeable "snaps" to create a different looks. The idea of interchangeable snaps sounds old lady-ish but I think these are really cute! Could be the whole turning 32 talking here...

I've held off on purchasing them because they aren't quite the cheapest sandals, at least not in my typical sandal budget. However, on Mother's Day, they had a special going on, 20% off your entire purchase (excluding sales). I knew no time better than then to go ahead and make the purchase.

It took me like 45 minutes to decide on what to purchase. Smh. Originally, I was going to purchase one pair of sandals and then a few different snaps but, after some calculations, I saw that I could purchase two pairs of sandals instead. I would save more purchasing both sandals now and could buy more snaps later. Hello savvy shopper!

I went with the Meredith Gold Metallic and the Rosie Navy. I wanted a neutral pair for versatility and then the navy because I own a lot of navy!

Well, the sandals arrived today and I am so happy with my purchase! I am extremely pleased with the quality and they are pretty darn comfortable. When you get older, comfort > cuteness, but these are both! #winning

There is a boutique in the area that carries Lindsay Phillips products, so I plan to visit soon!

Hello 32.

If my birthday festivities this weekend and today are any indication of what my 32nd year is going to be like, then I am excited to get started!

This morning the Mr. made me birthday cake pancakes and they were amazing! Recipe here. We skipped on the icing because we knew the pancake themselves would have more than enough sugar. No need to add to it.

He also had a little present for me to open. A notebook that caught my eye one day at Walgreens and then this Hey Girl journal. Made this girl giggle like a fat kid in a candy shop!

The rest of the day was spent as follows: gym, cake batter protein shake for lunch, shopping, and sushi.  Now I'm cuddling with the pups while watching Gilmore Girls. The Mr. is baking cookies and it smells heavenly. Can't wait to eat one (or two)!

So what does 32 feel like? Great! These past couple birthdays, I've had some anxiety about being in my 30's and not being where I thought I would be in life when I got here. But, I've gotten over that. I am ready to take on 32 by its horn and have the year of my life!

Birthday Weekend at Disney

We spent the weekend at Disney's Coronado Springs resort for my birthday. As always, Disney never disappoints. I really liked this resort. For a girl that doesn't care for the beach, this was my kind of tropical vacation. There was an area that even had sand and hammocks under palm trees. I could get all the feels of a Cancun vacation minus the travel and crazies.

On Friday, we headed over to Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival and to have dinner. By the time we got there, the sun was not as bright. Good for walking around, making the weather not scorching hot, but not so great for picture taking. All the pictures I took didn't give these arrangements justice. They were all pretty amazing.

Saturday, we basically stayed in and enjoyed the resort. We woke up and had breakfast then went to the fitness center for a workout. That's right, you read that right. I worked out on my vacation. There is a first for everything! I was so proud of myself. Even led me to make a smarter choice for lunch - salad.

After our workout, we freshened up, got in to our bathing suits and went to the pool to relax. What's nice about this resort is that it has several pools on property. There is the main pool where most families with children go to because it has a huge slide. Then there are smaller pools closer to the rooms where it was mainly older folks and quiet. Our kind of scene.

We had lunch and relaxed on one of the hammocks before going back to our room.

That evening, we washed up and on a whim headed to Disney Springs for dinner. We didn't make any reservations, so we were expecting to wait an hour or more for a seating. Much to our surprise, we found parking quickly and were seated immediately at Bongos. Call it birthday luck?

After dinner, we went to Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf for a round. It was both fun and nostalgic for me. Brought back childhood memories of when my dad took me to play putt putt almost every week during the summer.

When we got back to the hotel. we felt a little "wild" and had a couple drinks at the Rix lounge bar. I got the Birthday Caketini, of course. So, let me just say, we are not drinkers, and the few times I do drink, it's wine or sangria. I am not a fan of creamy liquor drinks. Needless to say, I had to force this one down. It did nothing for me. But it was cute. Umm, sprinkles?? Yes, please.

The next morning, we loaded up the car and finished off our weekend at Magic Kingdom. Again, love being pass holders. We can go to the park and stay a couple hours, then leave.

Now we are back home. My birthday is actually tomorrow and we took the day off as well. The Mr. is in the kitchen preparing these birthday cake chocolate chip cookies to bake tomorrow for me. He's a definite keeper ;)
